Sinusitis is a common disease that is caused by infection of one or more of the sinuses (cavities in the bones of the skull).

CAUSES

The primary cause that leads to sinusitis is obstruction of the sinus openings. With this obstruction, blood circulation and ventilation of the sinus cavity are lower, leading to a drop in PO2 that favors bacterial growth. The infection can be acute, intermittent or chronic. The most common causes are bacteria, although rarely fungal and viral etiologies also cause sinusitis. (more…)

Sinusitis, rhinitis and coryza

Among the most common ailments are nasal sinusitis, allergic rhinitis and coryza, as complete and definitive cure can be achieved through natural methods of treatment.

In sinusitis, an inflammation of the sinuses, usually caused by prolonged or chronic colds, for the most community of allergies and, less commonly, infections of the roots of the teeth – a blockage occurs in the nasal passages with storage of fluid secretions in the head, which causes pressure sores on cheek bones and the root of the nose, intensified when the patient leans forward. The condition can also be accompanied by mild fever and, if chronic bad breath and permanent hoarseness.
