2. By modifying the host file: sustained exposure to irritants (smoke).
The transmission mechanism is directed by sneezing, or indirectly by dirty hands or objects contaminated recently. The spread by brief contact in a waiting room is fortunately very unlikely.
From the onset of symptoms during a virus spread to 2 weeks (maximum infectiousness about 4 to 7 days).
