1. Oral diseases that may cause injury
1.1) Malocclusion
a) Definition: This is defined as a degree of inappropriate contact between the teeth of the upper and lower jaw or mandible.
b) Problems arising: Can cause problems with bite, gum tissue, jaw joint, speech and aesthetics. Can cause imbalance at the level of the temporomandibular joint, and this is directly related to the spine. Differentiating also in trouble not only in this structure but those associated with the lower limbs. Increasing the risk of spraining or pathologies caused by that imbalance is higher.
1.2) Caries
a) Definition: A disease of destructive nature that affects the structure of teeth, one of the most common pathologies in any adult human being. This caused by a bacteria called cariogenic, which have the capacity to adhere to tooth surfaces and produce acids capable of degrading the parts, causing erosion cracks.
This type of bacteria are favored in their development by foods rich in sugars. The outside of the teeth is made of a hard layer of enamel, while inside, which is soft, are the vessels and nerves. When the decay reaches the nerve, is the sensation of pain, and may even be necessary to extract the tooth.
